How to apply For Australia Awards Scholarships
The process of applying for the Australia Award scholarship varies slightly depending on the participating country's requirements. To apply, you can either complete the application process online directly on the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website or by mail. It is important to note that there is no need to pay anyone posing as a middleman, as the application process is entirely free. All necessary documents can be downloaded, filled out, and then submitted by mail.
- The first step in the application process is to check if your country is among the eligible participating country. Some countries allow online applications while others accept hard copy
- Next, check the opening and closing dates for your country, and select your country of citizenship/residency from the list of participating countries for specific information on eligibility, priority areas and how to apply.
- Next check the general eligibility requirements and selection procedure for these awards which can be found at the Australia Awards Scholarships Policy Handbook.
- If applying online, next visit Online Australia Scholarships Information System (OASIS). When you register online, you will be required to answer some questions to establish your eligibility. You will then be given a unique registration number, username and password.
Note that applications must not necessarily be submitted at once. Take your time to fill in the forms and upload all the necessary supporting documents accordingly. However, you submit before the closing date for your country and once this is done, nothing can be changed anymore.
- If you are applying by mail you will have to obtain hard copies for your application. From the participating country profile you can find contacts on how to obtain hard copies for your application. The same rules as the online application, take your time, fill in all the necessary information, and submit together with all the supporting documents before the designated deadline for your country.

ReplyDeletehi, the whole process is very easy. Just follow the guide in our post as above. But the very first thing to is to check your country eligibility. Is your country among the eligible countries this scholarship is opened for? see list of the countries in our post. If yes, then the next step is to check the various individual eligibility criteria for the scholarship and if you meet them, you can go ahead and apply. Applications can be done in your own home country, contacts are found on each country profile.

ReplyDeletePlease do I need to apply to the institution and scholarship body differently?

Hidear Nnennas?
DeleteTo apply for an Australia Awards scholarship, follow these simplified steps:
1) Eligibility Check: First, choose your home country and the type of award to verify your eligibility.
2. Course Eligibility: Once eligibility is confirmed(ie country is on the list, your interested degree program available), review the course eligibility criteria.
3. Online Application: Register and complete the online application form for Australian Awards. This involves providing personal information, academic and professional history, and a statement of purpose, among other details.
4) Applying to Institutions:
Australia Awards scholarships are administered by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. You do not need to apply directly to individual institutions. Instead, focus on the scholarship application process itself.
However, if you are accepted for an Australia Award, you will need to apply separately to the specific Australian institution where you plan to study. This step is necessary for admission to your chosen course.
5) Multiple Institutions or Courses:
Yes, you can apply to more than one institution or even choose different courses within the same institution. However, ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria for each course and institution.
Keep in mind that if you receive an Australia Award scholarship, you will need to finalise your course selection and institution before departing for Australia.
Remember that each participating country may have specific guidelines, and even specific eligible courses, so I recommend checking your country’s profile for detailed instructions and deadlines! Pls check links in the post.
Lastly, on the other hand, an admission in an Australian University before applying for the Australian Award Scholarship could also be very advantageous! Hope this helps! Good luck!
