Destination Australia Scholarships 2024 at the University of Queensland

Applications will soon open for the Destination Australia QLD Scholarships 2024/2025. The Destination Australia scholarship program is a prestigious program funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, aligning with the National Strategy for International Education 2025. The main objective of this scholarship program is to promote and support study in regional Australia, foster the growth and development of regional Australian tertiary education providers, and offer students a high-quality learning experience. 

This scholarship program is funded by the government and administered by the hosting institution to support eligible international students to study at this institution. The Destination Australia scholarship program at the University of Queensland for 2024 is available to students who are studying at UQ's regional Gatton campus and living in a regional area. For the current round, applicants are expected to first secure a place to study at UQ in a program starting in 2024 before applying for this scholarship.

• Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
• Bachelor of Wildlife Science
• Master of Agribusiness (#24)
• Master of Agribusiness (#32)
• Master of Agricultural Science (#24)
• Master of Agricultural Science (#32)
• Master of Animal Science (#24)
• Master of Animal Science (#32)

Eligibility criteria Destination Australia scholarships at UQ

To be eligible for the Destination Australia scholarships to study at the University of Queensland, interested applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Are new to UQ in 2024
• Maintain ongoing residency in the regional area for the duration of the scholarship, as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Structure 2016 from the Australian Bureau of Statistics
• Are enrolled and studying at the UQ Gatton campus
• Are studying full-time in a degree that is fully delivered at UQ's Gatton campus
• Are studying one of the following qualification levels:

1. Bachelor Degree
2. Bachelor Honours Degree
3. Masters Degree

• Are enrolled in an eligible program( see the list above)
• Maintain a student visa for the duration of the scholarship.

2. Receive an offer

Applicants will be assessed on four criteria:

1. Eligibility under the program guidelines
2. Academic merit
3. Response to personal statement
4. Dean's discretion
