This is a Fully Funded PhD Scholarship in the field of Science and engineering and is being sponsored by Australia giant mineral company Lynas Corperation.

About 2021 HDR Curtin-Lynas PhD Scholarship

The curtin-lynas PhD research scholarship is open to an outstanding and innovative PhD candidate with a strong research background and skills. The focus of the research would be on rare earths element processing. Successful candidates will be conducting research on leach behaviour, by-product generation, recycling of waste streams and rare earth recovery from solution.

  • Scholarship Value: scholarship base rate of AU$28,597 (2021) per annum pro rata.
  • Scholarship type: PhD by research full time

Eligibility criteria for HDR Curtin-Lynas PhD Scholarship

  • You must first of all meet the standard PhD course entry requirements for Curtin University.
  • Have a BEng (Hons), BSc (Hons) or MSc (preferred) in metallurgy, metallurgical engineering, minerals engineering, chemical engineering
  • You must demonstrate an ability to conduct scientific research through either refereed journal publications or excellent project marks
  • You must possess strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Meet English Language requirements (min. IELTS total band of 6.5 and min. Writing 7.0; Speaking 6.0; Reading 7.0; Listening 6.5) 
  • Must be having a strong ability to work independently and to meet deadlines during the course of the project.
  • Get  recommendations letters from previous referees (Academic or professional)
