Monash Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend 2025
The Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend is a prestigious scholarship funded by the Australian Government to support both domestic and international students undertaking Research Doctorate (PhD) and Research Masters degrees at Monash University.
This program provides financial assistance to students by offering a living allowance (stipend) to help with living costs during their research studies. Additionally, Monash Indigenous Research Scholarships are available to support Indigenous Australian students.

Eligibility Criteria for RTP Stipend
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be one of the following:
- Australian citizen
- New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
- International student
- Meet Monash University’s competitive scholarship selection process
- Satisfy Monash English language proficiency requirements
- Be enrolling in a graduate research degree at Monash University

The RTP Stipend is highly competitive and awarded based on:

- Prior research experience

How to Apply
- Applications for graduate research scholarships are submitted along with course applications via the Monash Applicant Portal.
- New applicants must obtain an invitation to apply from the relevant faculty before starting their application.
- Applicants do not need to specify a particular scholarship—all eligible candidates are automatically considered for all available graduate research scholarships.
