Multiple Fully Funded Postgraduate Research Scholarships (MSc/PhD)- The University of Sydney

Multiple MSc and PhD scholarships are currently open at the University of Sydney Australia for high-achieving international students with strong research potential. The scholarships are open to supporting eligible international students with high research calibre to undertake research degrees MSc or PhD at the University of Sydney.

RTP scholarships are fully funded programs by the Australian government and administered by various Universities across the country. The Australian Government RTP Scholarships at the University of Sydney will support successful recipients with full tuition support, living expenses, and other financial details to make life more comfortable in Australia.   • Research scholarship stipend value: up to $40,109 per annum (2024 rate), Forth night stipends support
  • Thesis Reimbursement: up to $420 for Masters candidates and up to $840 for Doctoral candidates

Applications for the Australian Government RTP Scholarships at the University of Sydney are open annually all year round. The deadline for the application is per round across the whole academic year. See details below (The current deadline for the 2025 intake is September 13, 2024).
  • For Research periods 1 and 2, 2025, the submission deadline is 13 September 2024
  • For Research periods 3 and 4, 2025, the submission deadline is 17 December 2024

Eligibility criteria for  RTP scholarships-the University of Sydney

To be eligible for this scholarship, interested applicants must
  1. be a commencing or enrolled international postgraduate research student
  2. have an outstanding record of academic achievement and research potential
  3. have an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled in a master's by research or PhD at the University of Sydney.
Applicants must also be enrolled full-time to be eligible for this RTP scholarship.

Note that, RTP scholarships are based on academic merit and are highly competitive. To be successful, the applicant must have an outstanding academic record, and some research publications will be added advantage.

How to apply for  RTP scholarships-the University of Sydney

Applicants must submit applications before the end of the various timelines as seen above to obtain this scholarship.
To apply, applicants will have to first submit a candidature for a Higher Degree at the time of application and in the application form select the check box to be considered for research scholarships.
Application is online via the University admission portal for Research Training Program Scholarship.
