HDR Scholarships 2023/24 Bond University: Multiple fully funded Masters research and PhD scholarships

Applications are currently open for Bond University Higher Degree by Research(HDR) scholarships to study in Australia. These scholarships are open for eligible international students to undertake any research degree program of choice across the University. Scholarships are available for international students with outstanding academic achievements and research capabilities.

The Bond University HRD scholarships provide full tuition fee waiver and stipend support to the successful recipients. There are two kinds of HRD scholarships available for international students at Bond University:

The Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarships and the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship  

The HDR scholarship rounds are held twice per year. Applications are currently open for  the 2nd round in 2023  closing 22 September 2023 (Bond University has no application fees for research degree applicants applying online)

1. Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (BUPRS) 

The  Bond University Postgraduate Scholarship (BUPRS) are funded by Bond University. The scholarship provides tuition fees and living support for successful recipients. These scholarships are awarded through a competitive merit-based process. The BUPRS scholarships are awarded to applicants who possess outstanding academic achievements and research potential.

Eligibility Criteria for BUPRS Scholarships

Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarship is awarded on a  merit-based approach. The Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarships are only awarded to eligible applicants with strong academic achievements and research potential.  Applicants meet the following criteria to be considered for the Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarship  :
  1. Applicant  must have a valid Bond University Letter of Offer for a doctoral program( meaning you must have applied and secured admissions into Bond University by the time you are submitting your RTP scholarship application)
  2. Applicant must be studying a doctoral program full time 
  3. Applicant must be studying for a doctoral program 
Note: If you have previously applied for a Higher Degree Scholarship at Bond University, and were unsuccessful, you are not eligible to reapply.​​

How to apply for Bond University BUPRS scholarships

To apply for a Bond University HDR scholarship, interested applicants are expected to first submit their candidature for a  degree program. At the time of applying for the scholarship, applicants must have received a valid Letter of Offer for admission to a doctoral research program from the Bond University Admissions Department. Applicants are advised to apply for admissions early enough before the due date of the scholarship round.

To apply for admission to Bond University for a Research Masters or PhD, you will need to complete and submit an expression of interest (EOI) prior to completing an application. Make sure to apply early before the dude date of the scholarship round. To apply for a research degree admissions and be considered for a scholarship, the following steps are needed:
  • Step 1 -Complete and submit an Expression of interest (E0I) to the Faculty. This is done online via  Bond University Online Application Service. Before applicant starts their application, they are expected to submit an Expression of Interest (Eol) to the relevant faculty. Applicants will need to register and complete the Expression of Interest section of the application. The applicant will be assessed for the availability of supervision.
  • Step 2 - Apply for Admission to Bond University. If you are successful with your EOI, you will be notified of the outcome and will be invited back to proceed and complete your application via the same admission portal.
  • Step 3 - Apply for a Scholarship. Once admission has been secured, and you have received a letter of Offer, you can lodge your application for this scholarship using the same application portal, further details would be provided by the Department of admissions.

Applications for the BUPRS scholarships are done online via Bond University HDR admissions portals( Bond University Online Application Service). Applicants must apply using the Higher Degree Scholarship application form that can be accessed from the portal. There is no application fees for international students applying for research degree programs online

  1. Research Project Proposal
  2. Academic Transcripts  including the results/grades awarded, information on institution grading systems/scales, and evidence of completion
  3. Curriculum Vitae (CV) Please include any research publications and conference presentations
  4. Prize and Award Certificates
  5. Two referee reports

2. The Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship  

The RTP stipend scholarships are funded by the Australian government to support international students undertaking research degree training in Australia. The scholarships are provided to support the general living costs of successful recipients. The RTP scholarship at Bond University is awarded through a competitive application process. The University HDR Scholarship awarding committee meets biannually to award fee waivers and living stipends based on a merit-based selection process
