About the Positions

Monash University Graduate Research Scholarships 2025

Monash University is offering the Graduate Research Scholarships to support outstanding research students from around the world, including domestic and international candidates, to undertake higher degree research at one of Australia's leading universities. This scholarship opportunity is designed to foster the next generation of researchers by providing significant financial and academic support.

This opportunity is open to students aiming to pursue a Master's by Research or a Ph.D. at Monash University. Application tips are provided at the end of this post!

 Scholarship Overview

• Scholarship Type: Full tuition fee coverage
• Stipend Value:$35,013 per year (2024 rate). 
• Other Supports:Relocation allowance 

• Health Insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) 
• Study Level: Master's by Research / Ph.D.
• Study Course: Open to all study areas
• Citizen Type: Domestic and International students
• Number of Positions: Approximately 800
• Duration: Up to 2 years for a Master's by Research degree and up to 4 years for a Ph.D.
• Deadline: August 31, 2025

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Have applied for and met the entry requirements for a graduate research degree at Monash University, or
• Be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at Monash University.

Selection Criteria 

The selection criteria for this scholarship are merit-based, considering the following factors:

• Academic achievements in previous study programs, such as grades, rankings, etc.
• Demonstrated research potential in the chosen field of study.
• The relevance of the chosen program to previously studied programs.
• Relevant professional experience.
• Recommendations from previous referees.
• Research skills demonstrated through publications, if any.
