Vice Chancellor’s Research Fellowship  PhD Opportunity

This PhD scholarship is part of a Vice Chancellor’s Research Fellowship held by Dr. Leanda Mason. It offers an annual stipend of $33,000 and is aligned with the School of Education and the Centre for People, Place, and Planet at Edith Cowan University (ECU).

The opportunity is open to domestic and international students interested in contributing to a vibrant research community. The successful candidate will have the freedom to develop their research questions with the support of supervisors, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches to qualitative and theoretical research. Eligibility 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants are expected to:

• Meet the entry requirements for a PhD at ECU
• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a research team
• Have the capacity to think across disciplinary silos
• Engage creatively in qualitative and theoretical research

Preference will be given to applicants who have lived experience as a queer and/or Indigenous person.

The selection criteria for this scholarship include:

• Demonstrated research potential and previous academic achievements
• Ability to engage with interdisciplinary research and think creatively
