Charles Darwin University Higher Degree by Research RTP Scholarships 2025/2026

This scholarship opportunity is being offered by Charles Darwin University (CDU) to support outstanding research studentsboth domestic and international who wish to undertake a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) in the Northern Territory of Australia.

The scholarships are funded by the Australian Government's Research Training Program (RTP) and aim to foster innovation, critical research skills, and professional excellence across a wide range of academic disciplines. Successful applicants will receive full financial support to complete a Master’s or PhD by Research at CDU a university recognized for its research impact and community engagement.

 Scholarship Overview

  • Scholarship type: Full tuition fee offset (funded by the Australian Government RTP Scheme)

  • Stipend value: Living allowance of approximately $33,000 per year (2025 rate, tax-free), indexed annually

  • Other supports:

    • Relocation allowance (value varies based on circumstances)

    • Thesis allowance (reimbursement for costs related to thesis production)

  • Health insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students (single policy only)

  • Study Level: Master’s or PhD by Research

  • Study Course: Open to all study areas offered by CDU

  • Have applied for or be currently enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at Charles Darwin University

    • English proficiency results (if applicable)

    • Certified academic transcripts

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • Research outputs (if applicable)

    • Confirmation email from a CDU supervisor willing to support your research

Selection Criteria
