ACU Stipend Scholarship 2025-2026

The Australian Catholic University (ACU) is offering generous stipend scholarships to support both domestic and international students undertaking a Research Masters or PhD at one of Australia’s leading Catholic institutions.

This competitive scholarship opportunity is designed to attract outstanding students who wish to pursue innovative and impactful research in a range of disciplines across ACU’s faculties and research institutes.

Scholarship Overview

• Scholarship type: Full tuition fee cover + living stipend
• Stipend value:

• AUD $33,511 per annum (full-time), paid fortnightly  indexed annually (2025 rate(

 Other supports:

• Relocation allowance of up to AUD $2,000 for international candidates relocating to Australia
• Health insurance: RTP Allowance covers the cost of one Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) policy
• Tuition Fee Coverage:

• Domestic students: RTP Fees Offset Scholarship (valued at approx. AUD $30,000 per year)

• International students: ACU Tuition Fee Scholarship (valued at approx. AUD $30,000 per year for up to 3.5 years)

• Study Level: Masters/PhD by Research
• Study Course: Open to all study areas within ACU faculties and research institutes
• Citizen type: Both domestic and international students
• Number of positions: Not specified
• Duration: Up to 2 years for Masters by Research and up to 3.5 years for PhD
• Deadline:
• 1 October 2025, 11:59 PM AEST
• 1 April 2026, 11:59 PM AEDT
• 1 October 2026, 11:59 PM AEST

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be enrolled in or have applied to a Research Doctorate or Masters by Research at ACU

• Be either a domestic student or an international student

• Not be receiving income from another source that exceeds 75% of the ACU Stipend rate, unless that income is not for general living cost

Eligible Study Programs

All programs offered under the following faculties and research centers at ACU are eligible:

• Faculty of Education and Arts

• Faculty of Health Sciences

• Faculty of Law and Business

• Faculty of Theology and Philosophy

• ACU Research Institutes and Centres

Selection Criteria 

The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit and research potential, including:

• Performance in previous academic qualifications (GPA, class rank, honors)

• Research alignment with ACU’s strategic research priorities

• Relevance of proposed research project to applicant’s academic background

• Quality and feasibility of the research proposal

• Publications, professional experience, and academic references

How to Apply

1. Apply for a Research Higher Degree (RHD) program at ACU (PhD or Master by Research).

2. Submit your application for the ACU Stipend Scholarship via the university's RMS (Research Management System).

3. Ensure you submit before the deadline for the relevant round (April or October).

4. Supporting documents usually include academic transcripts, a research proposal, academic CV, and referee reports.
