JCU International Excellence Scholarship
The JCU International Excellence Scholarship is funded by James Cook University (JCU) to support high-performing international students who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs in Australia.
This scholarship is designed to reward academic excellence by providing a tuition fee reduction throughout the full duration of study, allowing students to focus on achieving strong academic outcomes at one of Australia’s leading tropical research universities.
The opportunity is therefore open to new international students enrolling in approved full-degree programs at James Cook University

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants are expected to:
- Be an international student applying to James Cook University
- Be a new student commencing a full degree program
- Meet the academic entry requirements for their chosen program
- Enrol in an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework course
- Maintain a strong GPA throughout the duration of study
Eligible course or study program:
Approved undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs at JCU
(Program exclusions apply)
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria for this scholarship are merit-based and consider:
- Academic performance in previous studies
- Overall academic excellence demonstrated during admission assessment
- Ability to meet and maintain the required GPA throughout the program
No separate scholarship application is required
