About Higher Degree by Research Scholarships(HRD) 2021 Deakin University
Applications are now open for HRD scholarships to study in
Deakin University
Australia. Deakin University is one of another popular Australian University among international

HRD scholarships for international students to undertake research degree
scholarships in Deakin University include two scholarship type :Research Training Program
Scholarship (RTP) and Deakin University Postgraduate Research
Scholarship (DUPR).
Research Training Program Scholarship (RTP) is a commonwealth sponsored
Australian government research supporting scholarship program. It comes with a
lot financial benefits including tuition fee offsets and stipends. These scholarships are being administered by the host University
Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (DUPR) are being
funded by Deakin University to support international students undertaken
research degree programs

Stipend and Allowances Value
- A stipend of $28,600 (2021 rate) per annum tax exempt
-
A relocation allowance from $500 to $1,500 (for single to family) awarded to
students who are moving from interstate or overseas in order to study at
Deakin

For international students only: Single Overseas Student Health Cover policy
for the duration of the student visa.
- Degree program: Masters/ PhD research
- Scholarship Duration : Doctoral Degree Duration :3 years for stipend and 4 years for the tuition
fees offset. Research Master Degree Duration : 2 years for stipend and 2 years for the
tuition fees offset
- Course type : Open to all study areas
- Status: Currently open
- Deadline: Open all year round
Research degree candidature applications are accepted throughout the year. How ever, before lodging your application its highly recommended to get in contact with your department/faculty of interest as some departments require an Expression of interest (EoI) to be submitted prior to application.
The scholarships are open to students from a broad range of backgrounds across a number of interest areas. The process and application dates for candidature and scholarships are different for each faculty or institute. However, if you have been offered a place and missed the scholarship round for that faculty, you will be consider for the next scholarship round. See list of faculties below:

Eligibility Criteria for Deakin University HRD Scholarships
To be eligible for Deakin University HRD Scholarships ie that RTP or
DUPRS :

applicants must be enrolled in an HDR course of study at Deakin
University

applicants must be must not be receiving an equivalent award or
scholarship from the Commonwealth designed to offset HDR fees
-
Student must not be receiving income from another source to support
that student’s general living costs while undertaking their course of study
if that income is greater than 75 per cent of that student’s RTP or DUPRS
Stipend rate. Income unrelated to the student’s course of study or income
received for the student’s course of study but not for the purposes of
supporting general living costs is not to be taken into account.

Selection criteria for Deakin University HRD Scholarships
Research degree scholarships are generally very competitive and open to high caliber students with rich research potentials and achievements.
The RTP and DUPRS Stipends will be awarded to students as a result of a
competitive process as outline below:

Students receiving an RTP or DUPRS Stipend will be enrolled as on-campus
full-time students.

Applicants for an RTP or DUPRS Stipend must have completed at least four
years of tertiary education studies

and achieved a first class Honours degree or equivalent level of academic
achievement as approved by Deakin, and meet all other minimum entry
requirements according to the
Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) Admission, Selection and Enrolment
Procedure. Please refer to the

Current students can apply for an RTP or DUPRS Stipend and will be assessed
by the Faculty/Institute.

Current students may not apply after they have completed more than 3 years
of their doctoral course or 2 years of their masters course (or part-time
equivalent).
