This prestigious scholarship is sponsored by the University of Adelaide to recognize and support academically outstanding international students. It offers a unique opportunity for students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework in 2025 at one of Australia’s leading universities, ranked 89th in the 2024 QS World University Rankings. The Global Academic Excellence Scholarship is aimed at students who have demonstrated exceptional academic merit and are ready to take advantage of Adelaide’s world-class education environment.

Scholarship Overview

  • Scholarship type: 50% reduction in tuition fees for the entire duration of the chosen program.
  • Stipend value: No cash stipend, but the scholarship significantly reduces the financial burden of tuition costs.
  • Other supports:
    • Full access to the University of Adelaide’s resources, facilities, and academic networks.
  • Study Level: Undergraduate and Postgraduate coursework.
  • Study Course: Open to all courses, except some restricted programs.
  • Citizen type: International students.
  • Number of positions: Limited.
  • Duration: Full duration of the degree program.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants are expected to meet the following criteria:

  1. Academic Merit:

    • Undergraduate applicants: Must have an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 99.9 or equivalent.
    • Postgraduate applicants: Must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.9 out of 7.0 or its equivalent.
    • Students completing studies at the University of Adelaide or other Australian institutions must have a minimum GPA of 6.8 on a 7.0 scale.
  2. Eligible Programs:

    • Students applying for direct entry into undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs are eligible.
    • Applicants for Pre-Enrolment English Program (PEP) before their degree are also eligible.
  3. Eligible Countries: All nationalities.

  4. Ineligible Programs: Excludes some specific programs like Medicine, Surgery, Dental Surgery, and other restricted programs.

Selection Criteria 

The selection criteria for this scholarship are based purely on academic merit, and the assessment includes:

  • Academic achievement: Outstanding results from your previous academic programs, such as high ATAR or GPA.
  • Potential for future academic success: Demonstrated by consistent high performance in previous studies.
  • Relevance of the chosen program to your previous academic qualifications or professional background.
  • Quality of academic references submitted in support of your application.

  2. Automatic Consideration: Once your application for admission is submitted, you will automatically be considered for the Global Academic Excellence Scholarship if you meet the eligibility criteria. There is no need for a separate scholarship application.
