UWA International Postgraduate Scholarship 2025

The University of Western Australia (UWA), with funding from the Government of Western Australia, offers a prestigious scholarship for high-achieving international students. This opportunity supports students who wish to commence and pursue postgraduate studies at UWA, one of Australia's leading institutions.

This scholarship is available for students from eligible countries who have demonstrated academic excellence, community engagement, and leadership potential.

Scholarship Benefits and Value

• Scholarship Type: Tuition fee reduction

• Value: AUD $50,000 applied against tuition fees

• Number of Positions: 1 per application round

• Study Level: Postgraduate coursework

• Study Course: Open to all postgraduate courses, excluding:

  • 1-year Law courses

  • 1.5-year Arts courses

  • Business and Science courses with 24 points of admission credit

• Citizen Type: International students from eligible countries

• Duration: Minimum of 2 years full-time study

• Application Period:

• Open: 24 March 2025

• Close: 30 May 2025

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

1. Have applied for and received an offer to study a postgraduate course at UWA as an onshore international student, undertaking full-time studies for a minimum of two years.

2. Meet the criteria to obtain an international student visa for study in Australia.

3. Commence studies onshore for Semester 2, 2025.

4. Not have commenced or completed previous studies in Western Australia or be entering on a packaged, foundation, or English language pathway.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed based on:

• A written statement (500–1,000 words) outlining how the scholarship will benefit their academic and professional goals, including how attaining a UWA postgraduate degree would contribute to their future success.

• Evidence of community service involvement.

• Documentation of recognition or awards for academic, community, or sporting achievements.

How to Apply

1. Apply for Admission: Submit an application for a postgraduate course at UWA as an onshore international student.

2. Prepare Supporting Documents:

   • Written statement (500–1,000 words)

   • Evidence of community service

   • Proof of academic/community/sporting recognition

3. Submit Scholarship Application:

   • The form opens 24 March 2025

   • Deadline is 30 May 2025

   • Submit via the UWA Scholarship Portal
