This scholarship opportunity is being sponsored by Monash University, one of Australia's top universities, to support outstanding international students pursuing graduate research degrees. The Monash International Tuition Scholarships (MITS) are aimed at helping students focus on their research goals by removing the financial burden of tuition fees.

• Stipend value: No living allowance is included; MITS covers tuition fees only

• Health insurance: Single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) policy for international students

• Duration: As per the standard duration of the course (up to 2 years for Masters by Research and up to 4 years for PhD)

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be an international student

• Have applied for or be enrolled in a Research Masters or PhD program at Monash University

• Meet Monash’s English language proficiency requirements

• Meet Monash's competitive scholarship selection process (i.e. academic merit, research potential, and experience)

• This scholarship is also open to students in Joint Research Awards where Monash is the home institution

Eligible Countries: All nationalities are welcome to apply
Eligible course or study program: Any graduate research program offered by Monash

Selection Criteria 

This is a highly competitive, merit-based scholarship. Applicants are assessed based on:

• Academic record and achievement in previous studies

• Research outputs (e.g., publications, thesis quality, research reports)

• Prior research experience

• Potential for research excellence in the chosen field

• Application for graduate research scholarships is done at the time of applying for your course

• Whether you are a new or current student, the same Applicant Portal is used for both admission and scholarship

• You do not need to specify the name of the scholarship—you will be considered for all eligible scholarships

• IMPORTANT: New applicants must first obtain an invitation to apply from the relevant faculty before starting their application
