Edith Cowan University in Australia is offering a special one-time travel scholarship opportunity for international students who were affected by delays in obtaining U.S. student visas. If you had originally intended to study in the United States but are now considering ECU as your study destination, this travel bursary offers AUD $2,000 to support your relocation and travel expenses.This opportunity is open to new international students commencing a Bachelor, Master (Coursework or Research), or PhD degree in Semester 2, 2025 or Semester 1, 2026 at ECU’s Australian campuses.

Eligibility Criteria

Be commencing a Bachelor, Masters (Coursework or Research), or PhD degree at ECU for the first time

Be enrolled in on-campus study at Joondalup, Mount Lawley, or ECU City campus

Not be receiving any other government scholarship or industry sponsorship

Provide evidence of prior intent to study in the U.S., such as:

A submitted application to a U.S. institution, or
-
An offer letter from a U.S. university
Selection Criteria
The selection will be based on:

Proof of disruption due to U.S. visa delays (submission of U.S. application or offer letter)

Eligibility status at time of ECU admission and enrolment

Compliance with ECU’s admission deadlines and census requirements

Full-time enrolment in an ECU degree program
How to Apply
There is no separate application required for this travel bursary.
Follow these steps:

Apply for admission to any full-time ECU degree program (Bachelor/Masters/PhD).

Submit documentation showing intention to study in the U.S. (e.g. offer letter from a U.S. university).

Accept your offer and enroll at ECU.

Ensure you remain enrolled and active after the census date of your first semester.

If eligible, ECU will disburse the AUD $2,000 directly to your Australian bank account.
