Victoria University International Research Scholarships 2025–2026
Victoria University (VU) in Melbourne, Australia, invites applications for its highly competitive research scholarships designed to support exceptional international students pursuing higher degrees by research.
These scholarships aim to encourage high-quality research and academic excellence across all fields of study, with generous financial support for international applicants. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the RTP Stipend Scholarship – International, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand
- Meet VU’s academic entrance requirements for a research degree
- Meet English language proficiency requirements
- Have achieved an H1 average (above 80% on VU scale) in the final or honours year
- Be commencing a full-time PhD program
- Submit a well-developed Research Focus Outline (RFO)
Selection Criteria
Selection is highly competitive and based on:

Academic merit (grades, honors performance, final year results)

Research potential as evidenced by your proposed Research Focus Outline

Relevance of academic background to chosen field

Originality and feasibility of research proposal

Publications, conference presentations, or relevant research outputs

Priority will be given to:

Applicants who have not previously held a PhD

Applicants who have not held IPRS, VUIPRS, or OPRS scholarships (unless for a Master’s of Research degree)
