University of New England (UNE) Scholarship 2026

The University of New England (UNE), in partnership with Cogninet Australia, is offering a fully funded doctoral research scholarship for outstanding candidates interested in applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in healthcare and education.

This prestigious opportunity is open to both domestic and international students who wish to pursue a PhD at UNE’s School of Science and Technology. The project will focus on building research-based models for data analytics in the domains of medical and educational datasets, providing valuable experience in both academic and industry-focused environments.

 Scholarship Overview

• Scholarship type: Full tuition fee cover

• Stipend value: $36,862 per year (tax-free, 2025 rate), paid in fortnightly instalments

• Other supports: Professional training and industry collaboration opportunities

• Health insurance: Single Overseas Health Cover (OSHC) for international candidates

• Study Level: PhD (Doctoral degree)

• Study Course: Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics (medical and educational focus)

• Citizen type: Domestic and International students

• Number of positions: Limited (one fully funded PhD position)

• Duration: Up to 3 years and 6 months (full-time doctoral research)

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants are expected to:

• Hold an academic background in Computer Science or a related discipline

• Demonstrate proficiency in Python programming
