Melbourne University Coursework Access Scholarships 2025–2026

The Coursework Access Scholarships are a suite of financial support opportunities provided by the University of Melbourne to assist students facing disadvantaged circumstances. These scholarships help both new and continuing domestic students enrolling in undergraduate or graduate coursework to access quality education without financial strain.

The opportunity is designed specifically to support students experiencing hardship—financial, personal, or educational so they can focus fully on their academic goals.
This scholarship package covers a range of named donor-funded awards such as the Hugh Kingsley Family Scholarship, the Irene and Arthur Kinsman Award for Postgraduate Studies, and the Eleanor and Joseph Wertheim Scholarship.

Scholarships Overview

• Scholarship Type: Living allowance
• Stipend Value: Up to $5,000 per year, paid in two instalments of $2,500 each

• Study Course: Open to a wide range of study areas
• Citizen Type: Domestic Students (Australian citizens & permanent residents)
• Number of Positions: Approximately 10
• Duration: One or more years (depending on remaining study)
• Deadline: 31 January 2026

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

• Have applied for OR be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate coursework degree

• Have at least 12 months of full-time equivalent study remaining

• Meet the specific requirements of at least one of the following donor-funded scholarships:

  • Hugh Kingsley Family Scholarship

  • Irene and Arthur Kinsman Award for Postgraduate Studies

  • Eleanor and Joseph Wertheim Scholarship

Eligible Countries: Australia (domestic applicants only)
Eligible Study Level: Undergraduate and Graduate coursework
Eligible Study Stage: Future and Current students

Selection Criteria 

The selection process is based on:

• The applicant’s overall level of disadvantage

• How well they meet the specific requirements of the individual scholarships

• Assessment by the scholarship selection panel

Applicants are ranked, and the highest-ranking students across the outlined disadvantage criteria are awarded the scholarships.
