UniSA Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship 2025

The University of South Australia (UniSA) is offering the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship to high-achieving international students who wish to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree at the university.

This competitive scholarship aims to attract top-performing students from around the world who demonstrate outstanding academic excellence and a strong commitment to succeed in their chosen field.

Recipients of the Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship will receive a 50% reduction in their tuition fees for the entire duration of their program or up to four years of full-time study.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a prospective international student (not an Australian citizen or permanent resident).

  • Be eligible to study in Australia.

  • Not have accepted any other UniSA scholarship or bursary.

  • Meet the normal admission requirements for their chosen degree.

  • Have achieved the UniSA equivalent of a High Distinction average in previous studies.

  • Meet the minimum English language entry requirements for their chosen degree.

Ineligible applicants include:

  • Australian citizens or permanent residents

  • Sponsored students (foreign or Australian government)

  • Higher Degree by Research (HDR) applicants

  • Current UniSA students

Unsuccessful applicants for the Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship will automatically be considered for the International Merit scholarship

Selection Criteria 

The scholarship selection will be based on academic merit and the overall strength of the applicant’s profile. Key considerations include:

  • Academic excellence (equivalent to a high distinction average)

  • Previous academic achievements and qualifications

  • English language proficiency

  • Motivation and potential for success at UniSA

  • Eligibility for the specific degree program

Scholarship Conditions

Recipients of the scholarship must:

  • Be enrolled full-time at one of UniSA’s South Australian campuses.

  • Maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 5.0 (or equivalent) throughout their studies.

  • Receive the 50% tuition fee reduction as a discount applied at the start of each study period.

  • Note that the scholarship cannot be deferred or transferred to another program.

  • Remain in good academic standing to continue receiving the benefit.

  • Not receive credit/RPL/Advanced Standing during the scholarship period.

If a recipient’s GPA falls below 5.0, the tuition reduction will be paused for the following study period and reinstated if the GPA improves to 5.0 or higher.

How to Apply 

Step 1: Find your preferred degree program on the UniSA Degree Finder

Step 2: Check the entry requirements, including English language and academic prerequisites, for your chosen course.
Step 3: Confirm that your degree is eligible for this scholarship.
Step 4: Apply for your degree and include the completed Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship Application Form with your supporting documents.
Step 5: Once your application is submitted, UniSA will assess your eligibility for the scholarship along with your academic degree application.

  • If you meet the criteria but did not submit the scholarship form, UniSA will invite you to apply later.
