Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (GUIPRS) 2025
Griffith University in Australia is offering a competitive scholarship opportunity aimed at supporting high-achieving international students who are commencing or currently enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program. The GUIPRS is designed to offset tuition fees for the duration of the HDR program and is part of Griffith’s ongoing efforts to attract outstanding research talent from across the globe.

Scholarship Overview

- Stipend value: This scholarship does not include a living allowance, but can be awarded alongside a stipend such as the Australian Government RTP Stipend Scholarship or the Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (worth approx. $35,000 AUD per annum).
- Other supports: Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) fully covered
- Health insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the candidate for up to 57 months

Up to 2 years for Masters by Research

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

Not be a domestic student (must not hold Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a New Zealand passport)

Be commencing or currently enrolled in an HDR program at Griffith University

Hold a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours (AQF Level 8) or equivalent

Not have completed a degree at the same or higher level as the HDR program they’re applying for
-
If transferring from another institution, not have completed more than 12 months (full-time equivalent) of candidature
-
Not have previously held the same or equivalent scholarship, unless special conditions apply
-
Not have held a Commonwealth Government Australia Award scholarship in the past 2 years (unless approved)

Not be receiving another equivalent scholarship covering tuition fees
Eligible Countries: All nationalities except Australians and New Zealanders
Eligible Course or Study Program: All Griffith University HDR programs

The selection of recipients for this scholarship will be based on:

Academic merit: Performance in previous studies, particularly the research component

How to Apply

New applicants must apply for admission into a Griffith HDR program online. The application form includes a section for applying for scholarships.

Apply anytime: GUIPRS is offered through a Continuous Scholarship Round, so applications can be submitted year-round.
