Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship 2026

This scholarship opportunity is being sponsored by University of Melbourne to support high-achieving international students from financially disadvantaged countries to pursue undergraduate studies at one of Australia’s leading institutions.

The opportunity is therefore open to international students enrolling in a bachelor’s degree program at the University of Melbourne, with automatic consideration upon admission no separate scholarship application is required.

Scholarship Overview 

• Scholarship type: Partial tuition fee cover
• Study Level: Undergraduate
• Study Course: Open to multiple disciplines including arts, business, engineering, health, IT, law, and sciences
• Citizen type: International students
• Number of positions: At least 110
• Duration: One or more years (depending on course length)
• Deadline: No separate deadline (automatic consideration upon admission application)

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants are expected to:

• Be a citizen of a country with a GDP per capita of US$10,000 or less (based on World Bank data)

• Have applied for and met the entry requirements for an overseas fee place in a bachelor’s degree at the University of Melbourne

• Have completed secondary school outside Australia or a foundation program in Australia

• Not have previously undertaken tertiary studies (except extension studies during Year 12)

Eligible Countries: Countries classified under the specified GDP threshold (many developing nations qualify)
Eligible course or study program: Any eligible undergraduate program offered by the University

Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for this scholarship will be merit-based and include:

• Academic performance in final secondary school or foundation studies

• Ranking relative to other applicants

• Meeting minimum score thresholds set by the University

• Overall academic excellence and potential

How to Apply

There is no separate application required for this scholarship.

• Apply for admission to an undergraduate program at the University of Melbourne

• Eligible applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarship

When will you know the outcome?

• Successful applicants will receive a scholarship offer within two weeks after receiving their course offer

• Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified
