About the Positions

University of Sydney International Academic Excellence Scholarships 2024

This prestigious scholarship program is sponsored by the University of Sydney to attract outstanding international undergraduate students worldwide. It provides significant financial support, covering tuition fees and other essential costs for high-achieving students pursuing undergraduate coursework at one of Australia’s leading universities.

The scholarship is designed to encourage academic excellence and global diversity, with around 20 awards available annually across two intakes.

Scholarship Overview

• Scholarship type: Full tuition fee coverage
• Additional fee coverage: Student Services Amenities Fee (SSAF)
• Duration: Up to four years for eligible undergraduate degrees, including embedded honors programs
• Study Level: Undergraduate coursework degree
• Study Areas: Open to all study areas (specific courses excluded, see eligibility criteria)
• Citizen Type: International students
• Number of positions: Approximately 20 scholarships globally per year
• Deadline: Ongoing

Eligibility Criteria 

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be international students as defined by the Higher Education Support Act 2003.
• Be applying for a single undergraduate coursework degree (including embedded honors) with a maximum duration of four years.
• Be commencing their first degree at the University of Sydney.
• Have completed secondary school or a recognized foundation program in Australia or from an approved University of Sydney partner.
• Not have undertaken previous tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as part of a Year 12 program).

Selection Criteria 

The scholarship is awarded based on:

• Academic merit demonstrated through secondary school results or foundation program scores.
• Diversity in nationality and course representation.
