The Research Training Program (RTP) Stipends is a scholarship funded by the Australian Federal Government and administered by Murdoch University to support outstanding international students undertaking Higher Degree by Research (HDR) programs. This opportunity aims to attract high-caliber research students from around the world and provide them with financial support while they conduct groundbreaking research at Murdoch University.

The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, research potential, and experience. Successful applicants will receive a generous living stipend to cover their expenses while pursuing a Master’s by Research or PhD at Murdoch University.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be an international student
• Apply for and meet the admission requirements of a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at Murdoch University
• Possess one of the following academic qualifications:
  • First Class Honours degree
  • H2A (Upper Second-Class Honours) or equivalent
  • Master’s degree with a significant research component

Selection Criteria 

The selection is based on academic excellence and research potential, with consideration for:

• Outstanding achievements in previous academic studies (grades, rankings, etc.)
• Research experience and demonstrated potential in the chosen field
• Alignment of research interests with Murdoch University's research priorities
• Professional experience relevant to the research field
• Strong recommendations from academic referees
• Evidence of research skills, such as publications, conference presentations, or research projects
