Bond University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (BUPRS) 2025–2026

This scholarship is funded by Bond University to attract and support outstanding domestic and international doctoral (PhD)‐level researchers. The BUPRS provides both full fee waivers and living stipends to enable scholars to focus entirely on their Higher Degree Research (HDR) programs at one of Australia’s leading private universities.

  • Scholarship type: 100% tuition‐fee waiver for up to 4 years

  • Stipend value: Living allowance of AU$ 34,315 per annum (indexed annually) for up to 3years

  • Study Level: PhD or Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy

  • Study Course Areas: Academic & English Pathways; Actuarial Science & Data Analytics; Architecture; Business, Commerce & Entrepreneurship; Communication, Film & Creative Media; Construction, Property & Planning; Health, Biomedical & Sport Sciences; International Relations, Politics & Arts; Law; Medicine; Project Management & Innovation; Psychology, Criminology & Social Sciences

  • Citizen type: Domestic and International students

  • Number of positions: Limited, awarded competitively by the HDR Scholarships Committee

  • Duration: Fee waiver up to 4 years; stipend up to 3 years

  • Applications open: 1 February 2026

  • Deadline: 9 September 2026

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible, applicants must:

  1. Hold (or have applied for) a valid Bond University Letter of Offer for a full‑time PhD or Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy.

  2. Be enrolled (or intend to enrol) full‑time in an HDR program at Bond University.

  3. Not already hold an equivalent Commonwealth HDR fee‑offset scholarship.

  4. If re‑applying after a previous unsuccessful BUPRS application, demonstrate significantly changed circumstances. (Second unsuccessful applications render further applications ineligible.)

Eligible course or study program: Any of the HDR programs listed above

Selection Criteria 

Award decisions are made biannually by the HDR Scholarships Committee on a merit basis, considering:

  • Academic excellence (e.g., undergraduate/postgraduate GPA, class rank)

  • Research proposal quality and potential impact

  • Alignment of proposed research with Bond University’s strategic priorities

  • Prior research experience and publications

  • Professional experience and leadership potential

  • References from academic supervisors or industry mentors

How to apply

1. Obtain your HDR Offer: Apply for admission to a Bond University PhD or Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy program via the Research Degrees page. Allow 6–10 weeks for processing.
2. Prepare your BUPRS application: Once you hold a Letter of Offer, download the BUPRS application form from the Research Scholarships Office website.
3. Submit supporting documents: Include your research proposal, academic transcripts, curriculum vitae, and referee reports.
4. Submit by deadline: Email your complete scholarship application to researchscholarships@bond.edu.au by 30 September 2025. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
