QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA) 2025–2026
The QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA) is a prestigious scholarship offered by the Queensland University of Technology to support high-achieving domestic and international students undertaking research studies in Australia.
This opportunity is open to future and current research students who demonstrate exceptional research potential and are pursuing a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in any discipline at QUT. The award is part of QUT’s commitment to building research excellence by attracting talented researchers from around the world.
Scholarship Overview

Scholarship type: Full tuition fee offset/sponsorship

Stipend value: Living allowance of AU$33,637 per annum for 2025 and AU$37,010 per annum for 2026 (paid fortnightly, tax-free, indexed annually)

Duration extensions of up to 6 months (PhD) or 3 months (MPhil), if approved

Relocation allowance may be available (refer to terms and conditions)

Health insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international students

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

Future Students:

Meet QUT’s academic and English language entry requirements for a research degree

Not already be receiving another living allowance scholarship

Be willing to enrol as a full-time internal student, unless part-time or external study has been approved

Current QUT Research Students:

Eligible Study Program: Any postgraduate research degree (MPhil or PhD)

Scholarships are awarded on a competitive and merit-based basis, with consideration for:

Previous academic achievements and qualifications

Research potential and alignment with QUT research priorities

Quality of the proposed research project

Prior research experience or publications
-
Academic referee recommendations
-
Professional or work experience in relevant areas

Indicate your interest in being considered for QUTPRA when submitting your research application.
