ECU Higher Degree by Research Scholarships 2025-2026
This scholarship opportunity is being sponsored by
Edith Cowan University (ECU) to support outstanding postgraduate students pursuing research degrees at the university. The scholarships aim to promote high-quality research training and performance through financial support and academic merit recognition.
The opportunity is open to both domestic and international students interested in undertaking a Masters by Research or a PhD at ECU. Successful candidates may be awarded either the ECU Higher Degree by Research Scholarship or the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

Have received an offer of admission into a PhD, Integrated PhD, or Masters by Research course at ECU

Meet the academic merit and research potential standards as assessed by ECU’s Graduate Research School

Ineligibility conditions include:

Receiving an AusAID or Australia Award scholarship within the past two years

Failing to secure supervisor endorsement

PhD commencement date beyond 01 December 2025

Masters by Research commencement after Semester 2, 2025

Receiving an income >75% of the RTP base stipend ($35,000) for living costs related to HDR
