UWA Engineering Excellence Scholarship 2025-2026
The University of Western Australia (UWA) is offering the Engineering Excellence Scholarship to recognize and reward high-achieving Year 12 students who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or Combined Bachelor's degrees that include the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours).
This prestigious scholarship aims to support outstanding domestic students to begin their engineering journey at one of Australia’s leading research-intensive universities.
Scholarship Overview
- Scholarship type: Merit-based scholarship
- Value: $10,000 total recipients will receive $5,000 per semester during their first year of study
- Payment structure: Paid each semester after the academic census date upon meeting continuation criteria
- Number of positions: 500 scholarships available
- Study level: Undergraduate (Bachelor)
- Study course: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or Combined Bachelor’s degrees including Engineering
- Citizen type: Domestic students (Australian citizens or permanent residents)

- Applications open: 1 July 2025
- Applications close: 23 February 2026
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

Be domestic students (Australian citizens or permanent residents).

Have completed Year 12 requirements for the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) or an equivalent qualification in the year prior to commencing studies.

Have achieved a minimum ATAR of 90.00 (or equivalent).

Have applied for admission to the University of Western Australia through the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC).

Receive an offer for a place in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or a Combined Bachelor/Bachelor’s degree including Engineering at UWA.
Selection Criteria
The scholarship is automatically awarded based on academic merit. Selection is determined by:

The applicant’s ATAR score or equivalent ranking.

Eligibility for admission to an approved Engineering Honours program at UWA.

Meeting all other admission requirements as outlined by the University.
No additional application or documentation is required beyond your course application.

How to Apply
No separate scholarship application is required. Follow these steps to be considered automatically:
Apply for admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or a Combined Bachelor’s degree that includes Engineering via TISC.
Achieve an ATAR of 90.00 or higher (or equivalent qualification).
Receive an offer of admission from UWA.
Upon accepting your offer, your eligibility for the Engineering Excellence Scholarship will be assessed automatically.
If successful, you’ll be notified and the scholarship funds will be credited after the semester census date.
