 International Postgraduate Tuition Awards (IPTA), University of Wollongong(MSc/PhD)

Multiple fully funded Masters and PhD positions are currently open at the University of Wollongong(UOW) for eligible international students to conduct research in any field of choice across the University.  The UOW offers a range of graduate research scholarships and awards to high-achieving international applicants to undertake a Higher Degree by Research studies in different faculties. 

The scholarships and awards are usually in the form of allowances to assist recipients in meeting their living costs while they undertake research in UOW. This includes but is not limited to annual stipends per every fortnight, living support allowances and tuition fee covers. 

The International Postgraduate Tuition Awards (IPTA) at UOW are provided to support higher degrees by research students' tuition fees. These IPTA are awarded under three different circumstances: Full Course IPTA; Final Session IPTA; and Financial Hardship IPTA. • Award Duration: up to 3 years for PhD degree and 2 years for Masters.

• Application Deadlines:  In rounds. Round two closes on July 27

Eligibility Criteria for UOW IPTA Scholarships

In order to be eligible to apply for an IPTA, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

1.  Be an international student undertaking a doctoral or MPhil degree at UOW;
2. Meet international student visa requirements as specified by the DIBP;
3. Not be receiving a scholarship under any other scheme for which course tuition is a component. You can read other details for the eligibility criteria  from the HDR Scholarship Policy

How to apply for  UOW IPTA scholarships

Applications for these scholarships can only be done via a University staff. Applicants are therefore encouraged to consult a supervisor prior to application submission.
