About the position:
ARC Grant-Funded PhD Scholarship – Nonlinear ultrasonic guided wave techniques
for integrity inspection at the inaccessible area of structures
A fully funded scholarship position is available in the School of Civil
Environmental and Mining Engineering or School of Mechanical Engineering
at Adelaide University, Australia. The scholarship is available to support any eligible applicant undertaking research in Structural Health
Monitoring and Nondestructive Evaluation research areas with a focus on using
ultrasonic guided waves for inspecting the inaccessible area of structures. The
scholarship is provided by an Australian Research Council Discovery Project.
Applications are open for both domestic and international students who meet
the eligibility criteria for the PhD degree at Adelaide University. The
scholarship will be available for up to 3 years with living cost support
stipends.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants can be domestic or international applicants who are accepted as
candidates for a PhD degree at the University of Adelaide. Eligible
candidates must:

Have completed a relevant Bachelor degree with First Class Honours, or a
Masters degree that contains a significant (and relevant) research
component with equivalent academic performance. Students who hold a
degree in Structural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering will be considered
favourably.

Be interested in structural health monitoring, nondestructive evaluation
and infrastructure monitoring.

Applicants are expected to have a solid background in structural
mechanics/dynamic/acoustic and numerical modelling of structures (e.g.
finite element modelling)
