University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA)2026, (Multiple fully funded Master and PhD scholarships)

The University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA) is Funded by UNSW and supplemented by UNSW Canberra. The University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA) are fully funded scholarship to support eligible international students to undertake a Masters or PhD by research at the University of New South Wales. The scholarships are open to fields of study across the University. Applicants can apply for the scholarships at the time of applying for research degree program admissions.

The UIPA scholarships are available for 3.5 years for PhD students and 2 years for research master's students. The scholarships would provide full tuition support for successful recipients, a living stipend allowance of $39,206 per annum (2026 rate), and an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for these students. These scholarships are awarded on a merit-based, competitive process.  Applicants with strong research potential and excellent academic achievements will be given priority.

The University of New South Wales has 3 scholarship application rounds per year. To be considered for the University International Postgraduate Award at the University of New South Wales, prospective applicants must apply for this scholarship before the advertised deadlines for a chosen scholarship round. Applications must be submitted before the intended study period (Term), to ensure the acceptance and enrolment processes are completed by the Term Start Dates.

Eligibility Criteria for UIPA

To be eligible for the University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA)2026 at the University of New South Wales interested applicants:
  1.  Must be an International student enrolling in a full-time basis HRD program (Master or PhD) at the University of New South Wale
  2. Must meet the entry requirements for a Higher Degree Research program for which they are enrolled at the University of New South Wale as specified in the Admission to Higher Degree Research Programs Procedure
  3. Must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth the government intended to offset tuition fees.

How to apply for UIPA 

To study at the University of New South Wales, prospective applicants can apply for a scholarship at the same time as applying for a Higher Degree Research program on the University’s admission portal. To be considered for the University International Postgraduate Award at the University of New South Wales, prospective applicants must apply for this scholarship before the advertised deadlines mentioned.

To apply for a scholarship, simply indicate that you would also like to be considered for a UNSW scholarship on your application for admission to a program and select your preferred scholarship application round. You will be considered for all the available scholarships.
