The CSIRO Industry PhD (iPhD) Program is a four-year research training initiative designed to equip PhD candidates with applied research skills and direct industry engagement. Sponsored by CSIRO in collaboration with Federation University and Techplus Control System Pty Ltd, this program supports researchers working on industry-focused challenges, fostering innovation and collaboration between academia and the private sector.

The opportunity is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents, and New Zealand citizens who meet the eligibility requirements to undertake a PhD at Federation University. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen
Meet the entry requirements for a PhD at Federation University
Satisfy Federation University’s English language proficiency requirements
Not have previously completed a PhD
Be available to commence the program in the year of the offer
Enroll as a full-time PhD student

Selection Criteria

The quality of the 250-word summary explaining suitability for the project
Interview performance with the supervisory team

How to Apply

Submit a complete application through the HDR candidate application form, including:
- Academic transcripts and qualifications
- A 250-word summary outlining why you are suitable for the project
- Supporting documents for "Honours equivalence" (if applicable)
Applications will be reviewed by the supervisory team, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
The preferred candidate will be nominated by the supervisory team.
Federation University will assess the application based on PhD admission criteria.
If all conditions are met, Federation University will issue a formal offer letter.
