Southern Cross University offers a range of prestigious Higher Degree Research (HDR) scholarships under the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP). These scholarships are designed to support both domestic and international students pursuing Masters or PhD research degrees. Thanks to generous funding from the Australian Government, private donors, industry groups, and the University, the scholarships aim to attract and retain outstanding research candidates who demonstrate academic merit and research potential.

These scholarships provide financial support to enable students to focus on their research and contribute to Southern Cross University's vibrant research community.

 Scholarship Overview

  • Scholarship type: Living allowance stipend, with Tuition Fee Offset for international students

  • Stipend value: AU$33,511 per annum (2025 rate, tax-free), paid fortnightly

  • Tuition Fee Offset: Full tuition fees covered for international students only

  • Other supports: Available depending on individual scholarship conditions

  • Study Level: Masters and PhD by Research

  • Study Course: Open to all research disciplines offered at Southern Cross University
