Fully Funded Queensland University of Technology Scholarships 2025–2026

This fully funded scholarship opportunity is being offered by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) to support outstanding research students from around the world. The scholarship enables students to pursue a PhD in cutting-edge research on Unveiling quantum transport in mixed ionic-electronic conductors under the supervision of leading experts.

The opportunity is therefore open to both domestic and international students to pursue a doctoral research degree at QUT.

 Scholarship Overview

  • Scholarship type: Full tuition fee cover

  • Stipend value: Living allowance of $40,000 per year (tax-free, indexed annually) for up to 3.5 years, with a possible 6-month extension.

  • Other supports: Tuition fee offset/sponsorship covering the cost of doctoral tuition fees for up to 4 years.

  • Study Level: PhD by Research

  • Study Course/Field: Project on Unveiling quantum transport in mixed ionic-electronic conductors (Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Electronic Engineering)

  • Citizen type: Domestic and International students

  • Number of positions: Limited (one funded position)

  • Duration: Up to 3.5 years with possible 6-month extension

  • Deadline: 30 September 2025

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Meet the entry requirements for a QUT research degree, including any English language requirements.

  • Enrol as a full-time, internal student (unless approved otherwise).

  • Be able to commence studies by 1 March 2026.

  • Have a background in one or more of the following fields:

    • Physics

    • Materials Science

    • Nanotechnology

    • Electronic Engineering

  • Possess a clear understanding of semiconductor physics and devices.

Selection Criteria 

The selection process will be based on:

  • Academic excellence in prior studies (grades, ranking, achievements).

  • Demonstrated research potential in Physics, Materials Science, or related fields.

  • Relevance of prior research/academic experience to the PhD project.

  • Research skills (e.g., laboratory experience, publications, conference presentations).

  • Quality of research proposal and motivation statement.

  • Recommendations from academic referees.

How to Apply 

To apply for the Queensland University of Technology Graduate Scholarship, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare your documents – Academic transcripts, CV, research background, and a motivation letter outlining your interest in the project.

  2. Email Associate Professor Soniya Yambem – Introduce your academic/research background, express your motivation, and attach your CV.

  3. Receive support – If shortlisted, you will be invited to proceed.

  4. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) – Apply through QUT’s research degree application portal. In your EOI:

    • Nominate Associate Professor Soniya Yambem as your proposed supervisor.

    • Copy the scholarship URL link into question 2 of the financial details section.

  5. Final Application – Once your EOI is approved, complete your full admission and scholarship application before the 30 September 2025 deadline.
