Research Fellow in Health Services Research 2026
This exciting research opportunity is being offered by Flinders University to support an outstanding early- to mid-career researcher to contribute to innovative health services research focused on allied health and active ageing. The position is based within the Caring Futures Institute, working closely with the Professor of Allied Health and Active Ageing on a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) funded project.
The role is located at Bedford Park / Kaurna Country in South Australia and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful research aimed at improving care and rehabilitation outcomes for older people. This is a full-time, fixed-term academic appointment for two years at Academic Level B.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this position, applicants are expected to:
- Hold a PhD in a health-related discipline.
- Demonstrate research experience with publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.
- Show experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently plan and execute data collection and analysis.
- Have experience supervising honours or postgraduate research students (desirable).
- Meet employment screening requirements, including a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.

Eligible Field or Research Program: Health-related disciplines, particularly health services research, allied health, rehabilitation, ageing, and related areas
Selection Criteria
The selection for this position will be merit-based, with consideration of:
- Research publications and scholarly track record
- Experience in health services research at national and/or international level
- Demonstrated expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
- Ability to prepare ethics, governance, and data approval applications
- Experience managing research projects and collaborating with industry partners
- Ability to contribute to grant applications and external research funding bids
- Supervision and mentoring experience
- Capacity to produce policy briefs and plain language summaries for broader impact
