The University of Adelaide and OZ Minerals Industry PhD and Scholarship(UAIPHD)
The University of Adelaide and OZ Minerals Industry PhD and Scholarship(UAIPHD) is a four year PhD research scholarship program open to outstanding students both International and domestic to undertake research in the University of Adelaide under the joint support of Adelaide University with OZ Minerals Industry. This program will include a 6-month industry placement.
Under this postgraduate program, the PhD student will have an opportunity to work on industry problem and will be supported and supervised by a Supervisor from Adelaide and industry. The student will equally have the opportunity to undertake several professional development trainings. This scholarship will cover the tuition fee for the duration of study(4years) and equally provide living support. research, travel cost and others additional funding will be supplemented from variety partners
Research Project title :Investigate the mud rush phenomenon in the cave mining environment through scaled physical experiments, comparison with natural occurrences and numerical simulation.

Eligibility criteria for the UAIPHD scholarships
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet all the eligibility criteria for a PhD program at Adelaide University and this program specific requirements. This includes the following:
- Applicant must meet the entry requirements at the University of Adelaide’s higher degree by research
- Applicant must meet the University of Adelaide’s English Language Requirements at the time of application.
- Applicant must not be enrolled at another PhD program at the time of application.
Who is this program suitable for ?
This program is suitable for someone with with the following backgrounds:
- BSc (Hons) degree or a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or similar.
- Experience in experimental design, execution and data analysis, preferably in or related to rock mechanics.
- Numerical modelling experience is desirable.
- Expertise in computer programming, especially in Python and/or C++ is desirable.
Applicant must be accepted as a Candidate for a PhD degree at Adelaide University in the following faculties:
- Faculty of Engineering,
- Computer & Mathematical Sciences,
- School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering, and would need to commence in 2021
