UQ Destination Australia Scholarship 2025

This scholarship is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and aligns with the National Strategy for International Education 2025. It is designed to attract and support students to pursue higher education in regional Australia, fostering growth and development in regional tertiary education providers while offering students a high-quality learning experience.

The scholarship is open to domestic and international students commencing any of the eligible postgraduate programs at regional campuses of Australian universities in 2025. It aims to support students with diverse backgrounds, including those from low-socioeconomic status (low-SES), first-in-family tertiary learners, and individuals living with disabilities.

Scholarship Overview

• Scholarship type: Full tuition fee cover
• Stipend value: Up to $15,000 per year
• Other supports: Relocation allowance, health insurance
• Study Level: Undergraduate/Postgraduate
• Study Course: Master of Agribusiness, Master of Agricultural Science, Master of Animal Science

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

1. Be commencing one of the eligible postgraduate programs in 2025:
   • Master of Agribusiness
   • Master of Agricultural Science
   • Master of Animal Science
2. Reside in a regional area of Australia for the scholarship's duration, as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Structure 2016.
3. Meet specific eligibility requirements under the program guidelines.
4. Be from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, with students from low-SES, first-in-family tertiary learners, and those living with disabilities strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicants will be selected based on:

• Academic merit
• Eligibility under the program guidelines
• A personal statement of up to 300 words
• UQ’s values of diversity and inclusion
