Cowan University
Fully-funded PhD scholarship positions in Horticulture available at Edith Cowan University, one of Australia's most prestigious
universities. The position is open to any eligible international or domestic
student with strong research potential and interest in horticulture.
The research project would be on Jackfruit, a high-value horticultural crop of
North Australia. In the project, the applicant would be conducting research
on the comparison of pre-harvest and post-harvest fruit characteristics,
post-harvest physiology, consumer attributes and economic evaluation of the
supply chain of Jackfruit produced in different preharvest settings. The
project is jointly funded by CRC for Developing Northern Australia, ECU,
Western Australia, DITT, Northern Territory Government and CDU

Eligibility criteria for this scholarship
To be eligible for the Horticulture PhD scholarship at ECU,
interested applicants should be :
- A prospective or current student to be enrolled full time

International, or Australian Permanent Residents, New Zealand Citizens,
Permanent Humanitarian Visa holders

Applicant should hold BSc Honours (first-class or upper second
class) / MSc qualification in horticulture, agricultural science, plant
science, or an equivalent discipline.

Preferably the candidate has a C class Australian Drivers Licence (or
equivalent) as they will carry out travelling and working in rural
locations in the Northern Territory.

A candidate with research experience in laboratory and field research data
collection and analysis will be preferred.
Eligible applicants must apply to study in a PhD research course prior to
20th December 2021
