Australian Government Research Training Program (RTPS) 2023-2024,
University of Tasmania
Multiple fully funded Masters and PhD scholarships are available at the
University of Tasmania via the Australian Government Research
Training Program 2023. The RTPS scholarships at the University of
Tasmania are open for all eligible international students interested to
undertake a research degree Masters or PhD within any course of choice at the
University.
The RTPS scholarships at Tasmania University are open for all fields of study
across the University. Applications for research degree programs are accepted
all year, students must check individual faculties or colleges for this
scholarship deadline. The scholarships are awarded twice a year and provide
full tuition coverage and living allowance support for the successful
recipients. The RTPS scholarships are very competitive and are awarded on
merit base and research potential.

Applications for the University of Tasmania are open all year round,
applicants, however, each college-have a specific deadline for its degree
programs. Therefore applicants are encouraged to review the college-specific
scholarship closing dates for each round before applying. See the specific
deadline rounds for RTPS colleges below. Two rounds are currently open for
the 2023-24 intake. Round 1 closed on the 27th of March 2023. Applications
are now open for Round 2.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Tasmania RTPS
To be eligible for the University of Tasmania RTPS scholarships:

Applicant must be an overseas candidate enrolled in an accredited
Higher Degree by Research at the University.

Applicants must not be receiving income from another source to support their
general living costs while undertaking their Higher Degree by Research if
that income is greater than 75 per cent of the candidate’s RTP Stipend
rate.

Applicants must be ready to start by the date stated in their offer letter
Refer to the University of Tasmania for details on course entry requirements and English language proficiency for international students.
Selection criteria for the University of Tasmania RTPS
The University of Tasmania RTPS scholarships are awarded through a competitive
selection process. Priority will be given to applicants who meet the following
criteria:

hold an Australian or New Zealand bachelor’s degree with first-class honours
or qualifications and/or research experience deemed equivalent by the
University,
-
have a proposed project in an area identified by the University as one of
the research strengths,
- have not already completed a Doctoral degree or equivalent,
-
have not already completed a Master of Research degree or equivalent unless
intending to undertake a Doctoral degree, and/or
-
have not previously held an Australian Government or University-funded
Postgraduate Research Award for more than six months.
